The Alife Database
A Searchable Database of Alife-Related Sites on the Net
- To Browse: Click/double-click entries in the left panel
- To Search: Clear the center panel, enter words in the boxes, and hit Search.

To Browse:
- Double-click on any of the categories in the left panel (with the + prefix) to get the category list
- Click on any item in the in the left panel to view its data
To Search:
- Reset the center panel by hitting the Clear button.
- Enter any words (or search strings) in one or more of the boxes in the center panel.
- Hit the Search button.

Left Panel
This Panel is mainly used for viewing or scrolling through a list of records. Once a list is
displayed (by selecting the Open or Search button), the Prev/Next buttons can be used
to scroll through the records in it. Additionally, the Open button is automatically activated when an entry
in the list contains is a group record. The Close button closes the current group.
Right Panel
This Panel provides detailed information about a record in the database.
The record could be for an individual, a group/department, a company, etc..
If the record contains an email Id or Home Page, the Send email
and Home Page buttons are activated, respectively.
In addition to viewing detailed information about a record, this Panel
can also be used to search for a specific record (or records) by entering
partial or complete information. For example, if you wanted to search for
a "John" but weren't sure of the full name, you could simply
enter "John" in the Name field and click on Search
which will locate all the Johns in the database; if the Search All
checkbox is not checked, then all Johns only in the currently opened
group (or master group if no group is opened) will be listed.
The Clear button clears the contents of all the fields in this
Panel; this can be useful for entering partial information for a search
operation.
The Go to site button navigates to the site appearing in the Url box
